Today I thought I'd share some details of life lately that I shared on Instagram. First off, this marks the beginning of my second week at home alone with Hannah. After so much busyness the first two weeks, its been nice to have time to settle into a routine at home.
One of the first things I set off to do was to focus on a better quiet time with God each day. I had been feeling like I was not being very focused each day and honestly feel like it was something I was checking off my list, but not digging deeply into. I decided to go back to the basics and read Romans again, one chapter each day, and journal along with it too. I'm setting aside time each morning after I get ready and while Hannah is napping to take time do really focus. I'm really enjoying it, and I think it'll help me to be a better mom, wife, and friend too.
Hannah and I are working to get into a groove each day. We've been spending a lot of time at home, just so I can try to get her into a routine and learn her cues and personality better. I was a bit anxious for the weekend and having Grant home all day, but we all had a nice time together and my parents came for dinner too.
Grant got an arrowhead from my dad and he is pretty excited about it. He went to a museum with my mom and was really "into" them, and what do you know, my dad had one to share. Grant informed me it is not a toy, it's a weapon and proceeded to tape it to his Ninja Turtle stick and we pretended to fight the "bad guys."
We also make it to church, which was kind of a process. Hannah slept though the service, but wasn't super happy when Brian and I were in Sunday school. I ended up standing and holding her while she slept for much of the class. Hoping that gets a bit easier soon.
I'm also working on Hannah's scrapbook. My mom gave me a gift card for Christmas and I'm slowly working away. It's crazy how quickly my days are filled with "stuff" at home and not a lot is free for this hobby.
Also, Hannah is "loving" baths.......as this picture shows. I'm hoping this gets better, but for now I'm trying to get her in and out and quickly as possible.
I'm excited for a second with at home and really soaking up my time with maternity leave. I know it'll be over before I know it!
Hannah is so precious! I love her little Sunday dress!
