San Diego

I know it's been quiet around here, honestly things have been super busy, I've had very little down time, and when I do, I just haven't wanted to spend the time blogging. I did however, want to share Brian and my trip to San Diego a few weeks back.

Brian and I have literally not taken a trip, just the two of us since getting married nearly a decade ago. It was wonderful and we've decided it needs to be something we do each year for a few days. We are lucky that my mom was willing and able to come stay with the kids, otherwise, this trip couldn't have happened.

One of our first spots was Mission Beach, which is evidently super popular. We literally drove around for an hour and a half trying to find a parking spot, it was pretty crazy! Once we got a spot though we could see what all the fuss was about. The beach was beautiful and we ate a a super yummy sushi joint too.

I googled real estate for sale here- home goes for a measly two million. Chump change, right?

The next morning we went to Sea Port Village, after the parking issues on Saturday we got down her pretty early to have breakfast and walked the coast.

After that we headed to Bernard Winery, one of the oldest winerys in California. It was beautiful and we did a tasting and a tour.

That evening we went on a sunset cruise after eating in a restaurant by the ocean, it was tasty, but then I had some issues with sea sickness on the cruise. This was super weird as I've been on the water quite a bit. We saw some seal lions and Brian had a great time, so it was worth it, even though I didn't feel well.

On Monday I was able to meet up with my best friend from college. We used to see each other annually, then we both bot married and started having kids about the same time. It was so great to spend the day together!

For our last night there Brian and I went to La Jolla to visit the Children's Pool, which is a place where sea lions hang out. It was gorgeous! There weren't a ton of sea lions, as their mating season is over, but we did see quite a few.

It really was a great trip! I'm not sure how much I'll be doing new posts. Life is busy and unless I feel like I have something interesting to share (and the time), this blog will be pretty quiet.
