Cobalt and Stripes Two Ways

Today I'm going to show you a dressy and casual take on a similar look.  I've really been enjoying dressing up jeans lately, but I really only get to them one day a week at work, that leaves four other work days where I need to dress up. This winter has really make me dress more casually, but I really do love a good skirt, so  I love how easily this outfit can transition from casual to dressy by simply switching the the jeans out for the pencil skirt. I'm not going to lie, after taking these pictures I added tights, it was too cold. The jeans look I wore when it was pretty nice a few weeks ago....maybe I should have worn the skirt then. ;) Speaking of jeans, I'm on the hunt for some new ones, I'm wondering if I should give these a try, being I love everything else from there. What jeans do you love and recommend?

Next Wednesday I'm going to be co-hosting a "Many Days, Many Ways" link-up with Danielle at Goodwillista and and Nicole at Writes Like a Girl.  It will similar to today's post.  Pick an item and create as many looks at you would like with it, then link up with us next Wednesday, the 19th starting at 7:00 A.M.  Here's the button to grab, I'll looking forward to seeing your looks!

Introducing Style Swap with The Brandied Pair

I’m excited to me starting a new weekly link-up with Jenn from The Brandied Pair called “Style Swap.”

Our goal is to help you share your great style, as well as a blogger whose style you love.  Each Friday you can link up in one of two ways:
  1. Pick a blogger buddy and choose to do a “Style Swap” with each other, just like Jenn and I did today.  Pick one of each other’s looks you love and create your own spin on it, therefore “swapping styles,” then link to each other and to us.  This will build your audience in two ways: one, with the blogger collaboration, and two by linking up with us.  Awesome, right?
  2. The second way is to simply choose a blogger you love and take one of their looks and swap your style for theirs.  Then, link to the blogger out of courtesy and link up with us as well.
At the end of each link-up Jenn and I will take one of the looks we love best, and we'll “Style Swap” your look and create our own spin on it.  Then, we'll showcase your look and link to you on the next link-up.

We politely ask that you follow Jenn and I on at least one social media outlet before linking up.  Here's all the links you need to easily follow:

Jenn: Bloglovin / Pinterest / Instagram / Twitter / Facebook
Ginny: Bloglovin / Pinterest /Instagram / Twitter / Facebook / GFC (use button)

Here’s our button to grab, and the link-up will go live each Friday at 7:00 Central time.

My New Favorite Outfit

I'm looking forward to next week's first link-up and I can't wait to see all your "Style Swaps!"

Make sure to stop by The Brandied Pair to see Jenn's Style Swap with me too. : )

Jenn has such a great chic style it was hard to pick one, but I loved her look featured above. On her original post featured here, Jenn has really created the perfect dressy-casual combo.  I have the same red sweater, so I decided to pair it with my navy blazer, jeans, and leopard heels.  I'm wearing this for casual Friday today at work, but this look is perfect for a girls' night or date night with Brian.

What to Wear With Orange

For the last day of my series I'll be sharing my tips on how to wear orange. On the first day I shared with you how to wear wine, and on the second day I shared with you how to wear mustard, and of the three I think orange can be the trickiest to wear.  Here are my tips on what to wear it with:
  • Neutral tones are an awesome pairing for orange, though I think warm tones like tans and browns are best.  I would recommend steering clear of pairing orange and black, for fear of looking like you're dressed for Halloween.
  • The second way to wear orange is with complimentary colors and you might be surprised at all the colors that work to pair it with. I love orange with different shades of blue, but it can also be great with army green and wine.
Today I chose to pair orange with a combination of neutral and complimentary colors. I love the neutral cardigan and navy skirt with this fun top and I think it's a perfect look for fall. Make sure to check out my collage at the end of the post for some additional ways to wear orange.

Here's a chart for you all to help you see what to pair orange with:

I've really enjoyed writing this series.  Would you all like to see it continue in the future?  If so, what colors would you like to see me focus on?  I'm started a new series next Wednesday that I think you guys will love, so stay tuned for that too!

Here are some more detailed pictures of today's outfit:

Leopard and Stripes

I'm loving this casual look today. It's actually starting to cool down here, so breaking out my cargo jacket made sense.  I love the leopard and stripes combo and I feel really put together, but comfortable at the same time.  Pants and I aren't always the best of friends, but these red jeans and I get along just fine. Now, if I could just find another pair in a different color that fit this well.   I'm really liking this cobalt option, I'll let you all know what I think once I get in to try them on. What about you all, do you have any suggestion for a good place to buy colored jeans?
