This week Chelsea and I are taking on Family Game Night. Now, I thought I'd spare you the pictures of me in lounge pants and a tee shirt, because that's really what I wear at home in the evenings. Instead, I thought I'd share some great games with you. Grant is just getting to the age where he can understand how games work. He loves Go Fish, Candyland, and we've also borrowed some great learning games frm the library too.
Now that it's getting close to Christmas we're in the market for some new games. I found a great Jake and the Neverland Pirates board game, and a great Superhero one too. I also saw a fun Disney matching game and Apples to Apples Disney version. Lastly, I found some fun interactive games I know Grant would love too. Any of these games would make for a great game night. What recommendations do you have?

Apples to Apples is often used here when the family and friends are over, and recently my littlest sister has been asking me to get out "clue" so that she can use the game board as a play dollhouse! :P We really like playing games as a family!
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize that there was a Disney Apples to Apples game! Growing up, my sister and I played a TON of games. I was happy to see Hungry, Hungry Hippos included in your post!
ReplyDeleteHungry Hungry Hippos was one of my favorites when I was little. Mr. Mouth was one of my favorites when my nieces were little. Wonder what will be popular when they have kids of their own? :-)
ReplyDeleteI grew up on board games as a kid and love that I still get to play them sometimes during speech sessions (awesome motivational tool and way to work on turn-taking and social skills)! I really look forward to playing them with my daughter in a couple years. I can't believe all the great games that are out now!
ReplyDeleteI look forward to your Monday posts. I learned something new today. Those sweet snacks look so scrumptious OMG.
ReplyDeleteI used to love Hungry Hungry Hippo and Trouble. Those games were great! I hope we can have family game nights on a regular basis.

We love Head Games and Apples to Apples! Fun post!! Susan
ReplyDeleteHungy Hippos and Chex Mix! Throw down some bad reality TV and a few bottles of wine and I'm so in! (Though that would probably go against the whole "family" part of that game night thing ...)
ReplyDeleteWe used to do game night all the time, then when the boys went off to college for some reason we just stopped
ReplyDeleteMaybe we will re-instate it over the holiday break
Brett
I love Apples to Apples!!! So much fun!! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI love all of these great variations on chex mix. Looks delish! And we all know that Game night is about the snacks:-)
ReplyDeleteOne game I highly recommend for someone Grant's age is Zingo...it is still a favorite of my kids (and fun for parents also)!
ReplyDeleteOoo.. Those look like great games!
