Today is a first for me, I'm sharing a recipe with you! Now, I ususally leave the hit recipes to my sister, Chelsea at Whatcha' Makin Now, but this one was so good I had to share it!
My husband and I made this for Father's Day and it was a hit! I loved how easy it was and think it's the perfect treat for any gathering you need to bring something along to this summer. My husband found the recipe on cooks.com, then we made some changes to it, like adding chocolate chips and salted caramel sauce . Yum.
My mom whispered to me at the table that is was similar to "Better Than Sex Cake," I think our additions kicked it up a notch and Grant did lick his plate....
So, here's the recipe, I definitely think you should give it a try!
Ingredients:
German chocolate cake mix
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
14 oz can of sweetened condensed milk
1 jar salted caramel sauce
1 container of whipped topping
1/2 cup toffee chips
Directions:
First, preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Next, make a German chocolate cake per the directions on the box.
Now, stir in one cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips.
Pour into a 9x13 pan, then cook based on the cook time on the box.
Once the cake is cooked, poke with a wooden spoon every half inch throughout the cake.
Now, pour one can sweetened condensed milk evenly across the top of the cake.
Next, do the same with a jar of salted caramel sauce.
Top with 6 or so tooth picks, then cover and refrigerate for two hours or so.
Right before serving spread one container of whipped topping over cake with a spatula.
Sprinkle with 1/2 cup of toffee chips
Enjoy!
Ooh this does look delicious! I think everything is better with toffee pieces added =)

ReplyDeleteThat does sound so good!
ReplyDeleteI have decided though, that baked goods and sex can not be compared. They are far too different. On a separate note, I also feel they should not be combined.
Chic on the Cheap
That looks so yummy! Keep the recipe posts coming!
ReplyDeleteI've had this before and it is sooo delicious. (My mom won't sake the cake name though which always makes me laugh.)
