Chelsea and Ginny Take On: Thanksgiving

Since Thanksgiving is almost here, Chelsea and I decided to take it on.  You know what that means? No, I'm not talking about Black Friday shopping, though that is fun. I'm talking about Thanksgiving Dinner and the need for comfy clothes. Enter my maxi dress, it feels like pajamas, but looks like actual clothes. Nice! I decided to try it as a skirt and love the result. It was pretty easy to throw a fitted tee over my dress, then I added a denim jacket and fun infinity scarf. I'm now official convinced that maxi skirts aren't only for warm weather, and I'm now on the hunt for one like this. To me, this will be the perfect Thanksgiving look, with plenty of room for turkey and all the other goodness my mom, sister, and husband will bring to the table....I don't so much cook....

Denim Jacket: The Limited (like a decade ago) almost exact
Shirt: NY and Co. $3 (thrifted) similar
Dress:  Loft $30 love this option!
Scarf $1 (Dollar Tree, yep.) similar
Bracelets: Moxie , Renegade Stella and Dot
Boots: Wanted $29 (via eBay) similar / same in black

Chelsea has made an amazing Chocolate Chip Pecan Pie for the occasion, make sure to stop by Whatcha Makin' Now to get the details.  You better believe I'm requesting she make it again when Thanksgiving gets here!

  2. Yep, a maxi dress is perfect for the Thanksgiving food baby. It's even a step up from the leggings that I would probably end up wearing, lol!

  8. I love following your outfits! And I just have to say I have done the same thing with my maxi dresses. This summer I was working in an office for the first time so my summer wardrobe wasn't completely business ready. I have quite a few maxi dresses that are strapless so I would put on a fitted tee and then scrunch the chest part around my ribs. I then would put on one of my wide banded belts and made them into a high waist skirt. It was comfortable and made my closet have so many more options. I love this idea to carry over for the holidays too!

  10. What a great maxi and I like that it is a dress
I never thought of this as a T'giving outfit, but makes perfect sense...no waist band to cut into you after overeating. LOL

  16. Pants are a no go for Thanksgiving. It's all about the elastic and non-form fitting clothing. I just wish it weren't 20 degrees so I could actually wear this outfit!

  18. OK, I gotta know, how did you make the top of the maxi not look so blousy with the tee over it?
