How To: Accessorize One Shirt Four Ways

Today I'm going to share with you some tips for accessorizing. When I asked for ideas a few weeks back, this was an idea that was shared with me. I thought it would be fun to show you one top, then change the total look of the outfit by changing the top layer and the accessorizes.

I recently bought this top at J.C. Penney and love it.  I think I'll get a ton of use out of it this Spring and Summer.  You might look at this top and think, "How much can this go with?" However, playing around with color and accessorizes can totally change the look of an outfit.

  • The first outfit features my white blazer and Purple Peridot necklace.  I actually wore this with a navy skirt and heels to church recently.  One way to make an outfit dressy is with structured pieces like blazers and either one simple necklace or a crystal statement necklace like I'm wearing here.
  • The second outfit features a teal cardigan I've had forever and my new necklace from Edith Marie. I recently wore this to work with my black ankle pants and sandals.  I think it would also look great with white jeans, or normal ones for that matter.  Playing with color on top is so much fun and perfect for Spring and Summer
  • The third way is with my utility vest for a more casual look. I would wear this with skinny jeans or I think boyfriend jeans could be great too.  I think I'd probably add leopard flats for fun too.  Here I'm wearing my rebel pendant.  I love my statement necklaces, but I also love long pendant necklaces for a more casual look.
  • Lastly, I thought I'd show a more classic look with a denim jacket.  I actually really loved this one when I put it on and wore it last week with my black ankle pants and leopard flats. I added a necklace I've had for a long time from Charming Charlie.
In each picture I'm also wearing three or four bracelets.  I have about ten bracelets that I mix and match.  A few of my favorite are this one and this one from Stella and Dot and these from Style This Life. Check out this post for more details on stacking bracelets.

  4. Great post. I love your new top from JC Penney'. You have had some great luck there, lately. I love it best with both the White Blazer & Denim Jacket. That giveaway looks awesome too - I wish I could participate in it.

I acquired some new pieces this Spring such as a Much-Coveted Navy Blazer, a Much-Coveted Floral Pencil Skirt and some new Tops. I have already styled some of them and plan on doing some posts in May/June with them where I show 3 completely different Outfits I styled them in.

Happy Tuesday to you and Family!
