Pink and Blue

First off, thanks to all of you who graciously took my survey yesterday!  If you haven't yet and would like to here's the link.  I'll share with you the results in the next week or so.

Many of you commented on Monday and Tuesday how you couldn't wait to hear more about Go Blog Social. Like I shared before, I really had a great time and met some great people.  I've had  lot of fun reading other bloggers recaps this week. One blogger said "It started feeling like the first day of high school and ended like the last day of college."  I really liked that analogy. Once I get talking I love a good conversation and love to make connections with others, but I'll be the first to admit I am not brave enough to just walk up to others and introduce myself.  I wish I was better at that and thankfully there were a lot of girls who were, or it's likely I wouldn't have met very many people.

Many other bloggers talked in their recaps about how important it is to celebrate each other's successes with the "one succeeds, we all succeed" mentality.  I really love this.  All blogger share this same hobby, so it really shouldn't be a competition between girls.  I think it's natural to be somewhat disappointed when you hear about opportunities that other bloggers are getting that you don't have. HOWEVER, I also loved this quote I heard at the conference: "Don't compare someone else's middle to your beginning." So true, who knows what opportunities will come your way down the road and celebrate the good stuff that is happening to others!

Now to my outfit: Recently I went out with some friends for dinner, then we went to JCP because one of my friends had a $10 off $25 coupon code and shared it with us. I picked up this top and these Joe Fresh jeans (sold out online, similar to these) for $10...which means these jeans were free. Not bad :)  I was excited to try them out and decided to pair them with my window pane top and favorite blazer.  I really like how it came together.

  3. Lovely pants, I miss getting those coupons from JCP it's been forever. Thank you for the blog encouragement above. I have read other girls blogs (been feeling too) that we compare ourselves with others too much. I know down the road I can improve my photos, blogs, content. For now I should make being a mommy and wife, teacher a priority. Have a lovely Thursday! Rachel xo

  4. Some great words about Go Blog Social and I like that analogy about not comparing yourself to others, too.

This Outfit is lovely. I need some true Red Jeans and yours are awesome. I super love the window-pane blouse too. I was first admiring Agi's in her blog today and now you have a Window-pane top, too. Awesome Outfit - bottom line. =)

  5. I love the vivid color of the jeans! I have a similar pair that are a little more coral. I usually just throw a chambray on with them, but I have plenty of navy to try this with! That quote about beginnings vs. middle is something I'm going to have to take to heart.

  6. I'm really curious how outgoing I would be at a blogger conference. I think I might get really shy! Anyway, I hope i can go next year. And I love this outfit! Hooray for free jeans!

  7. Love this outfit Ginny. I totally agree that one of our successes is everyones, but I have noticed, and maybe it's just a Vancouver thing, but many bigger bloggers don't want to help the smaller ones. They think that they are better than the rest of us.I dont' like that. It's a big world, big enough for all of us. I love blogger love. Great post.

  9. The windowpane print is so chic! I love how you paired it with the brightly colored jeans!

I am really shy around people I don't know so I probably wouldn't have gone up to anyone either. It's really nice though that you met so many new bloggers!

  10. I love how your outfit came together! I always forget about JCP. I used to go there all the time when I was younger but haven't been back for a couple years. Between all the cute pieces bloggers are posting and good coupons I think I need to go back!
