Summer is here and Grant and I are having a blast. We are busy most of the morning, so the last thing I want to do is take a lot of time preparing lunch, and kid friendly foods like hot dogs and peanut butter and jelly aren't on the list of my favorite things to have for lunch (no offense, Grant).

Since I'm expecting, I really need to make healthy food choices, but I don't want to sacrifice flavor in the meantime. Luckily there's LEAN CUISINE®. As a teacher LEAN CUISINE® meals have been a go-to for me for years, so I was excited to find out they came out with some great new meals. These new, flavorful meals are now available in organic, protein-packed, and gluten-free options available. I don't have any dietary restrictions, but I love that LEAN CUISINE® is wanting to be considerate of those who do.

My neighborhood Walmart is right down the street, and there were tons of options available! Starting June 14 and going until June 28th, there will be special offers in store in the Superfridge too.

The first dish I tried was LEAN CUISINE® Marketplace Sweet & Spicy Korean-Style Beef. This dish has 15 grams of protein, so I love that it will keep me fueled all afternoon!

The serving size was more than enough and was full of great flavor. The beef was tender and the vegetables tasted fresh. Grant tried this too and really liked it, in fact he stole all the zucchini, leaving me with only one piece. Hey, if this meal is kid approved, all the better, right?

The second dish I tried was LEAN CUISINE® Marketplace Vermont White Cheddar Mac & Cheese.  It's made with Organic Pasta and delicious white cheddar cheese.

I'm not going to lie, I tried one bite, then Grant highjacked the rest of it. I'm a big mac & cheese fan, and this dish didn't disappoint. Grown-up mac & cheese that is still tasty enough for kids? Yes, that's a winner.

The third dish I tried was LEAN CUISINE® Marketplace Spicy Beef and Bean Enchilada. This dish happens to be gluten free. Now, I'm a huge Mexican food fan and Lean Cuisine has a few other dishes similar to this one I love, so I was excited to try this at lunch the next day.

The rice seemed to be the same as their other Mexican dishes, which I really like. I also really liked the Beef and Bean Enchilada. The beans weren't overwhelming and the beef had great flavor. It was also the perfect lunch size too.

Be sure to check out more delicious LEAN CUISINE® meals at Walmart. I'd love to hear your favorite! You can find LEAN CUISINE® on TwitterPinterest, and Facebook.

  1. So excited to see that they (finally) have a gluten free option for me! Since being diagnosed with Celiac Disease I have been extremely limited on any quick frozen meal options. This is great news! Thanks for letting us know.
