Life Lately

My summer is in full effect, so today I thought I'd share some pictures from Instagram that will fill in you on how it's going so far.

Last Friday Brian and I went for my twelve week check. I've been feeling much better, but was anxious to hear the heartbeat. Thankfully everything is going well!

Jacket: Gap similar / Top: Old Navy similar / Jeans: Target same / Bag: Merona same / Flats: similar

My outfits have really been pretty casual, which is perfect or errands and playdates. I love how my Kendra Scott Pendant Necklace from Rocksbox finishes this outfit off. Try Rocksbox for a month free when you sign up with the code "newfavoriteoutfitxoxo." One piece of jewelry is all I wear most days, any more is really overdoing it for casual attire here in Nebraska, and this Kendra Scott one is perfect!

Cardigan: Merona same / Tee: Gap via thredUP (use this thredUP link to get $10 off your first order) / Shorts: Liz Lange same / Necklace: Kendra Scott Pendant Necklace c/o Rocksbox / Shoes: Target similar

I'm still trying to utilize my normal clothes for layers and this gingham shirt from J.Crew factory is one of my favorite. I wore this for a playdate at the park, and even this was overdressed, and I hate feeling this way. Moms around her roll in yoga pants and tees. What to do....

Grant and I have been keeping busy and that means taking advantage of free stuff in town.  If you haven't signed up for Kids Bowl Free, you're missing out. This gives you two free games each day at bowling areas in your area, you only have to pay for shoe rental. Grant had a blast and it was a nice way to spend a rainy morning.

We are utilize your library like crazy! They have tons of free some activities for kids. There was a firefighter story time, then we got to the truck. Grant got a free hat too, so fun!

We had one day last week that didn't rain, so we had a playdate at the park.  Grant had a blast with three of his favorite people and I got some social time too. : )

Now that I'm feeling better, I'm able to soak up my daily devotions on She Reads Truth again too, which is a total blessing. I'm reminded of God's great love for us!

What have you all been up to, and you SAHMs out there, what tips do you have to keep the kids busy this summer?

  1. I love your mommy outfits! I refuse to go out of the house in yoga pants unless I am working out or sick so you are definitely not alone in wanting to look cute. Great layers!

  3. Looks like lots of fun! I wouldn't worry about being overdressed - I am ALWAYS overdressed when I go home to Wyoming since the style here in New York is much more dressy, even for casual events and I find that if I dress down, I feel like a slob. So, I just wear what *I* like and what feels best to me and I don't worry about what others are wearing. It's been good practice for not caring about a whole bunch of other, bigger things too...

  9. Thanks for the heads up about the free bowling. I just checked the availability in Cincinnati, and one of the two alleys in the whole city is just down the road from me!
