The Rock

One of my favorite songs to sing is The Rock Won't Move. If you haven't heard it yet, here's the video:

Right now it seems like there is a lot of anxiety, fear, and anger around our new choice for president. Regardless if we agree or not, Trump is our leader for at least the next four years.

So much anxiety is based on the here and now and putting our faith and trust in the things of this world.  Take a look at the lyrics to this song:

"When the ground beneath my feet gives way
And I hear the sound of crashing waves
All my world is washing out to sea
I'm hidden safe in the God who never moves
Holding fast to the promise of the truth
That You are holding tighter still to me
The Rock won't move and His word is strong
The Rock won't move and His love can't be undone
The Rock won't move and His word is strong
The Rock won't move and His love can't be undone
The Rock of our Salvation
My hope is in the promise of Your blood
My support within the raging flood
Even in the tempest, I can sing
I'm hidden safe in the God who never moves
Holding fast to the promise of Your truth
That You are holding tighter still to me
The Rock won't move and His word is strong
The Rock…"

I don't need to fear tomorrow because I have the Rock-God. On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand. The Rock won't move.

In the midst of the craziness of our lives and the things we can't control, if we remember who we are in God, our anxiety can melt away.

I hope this can give you some peace today.
