One trend I'm really loving right now is Kimono cardigans. I'm not a fan of the super long ones, but the ones that hit at the hip or above are right up my alley. Earlier this spring I ordered two from Target, but they ended up being to long and big on my 5'4" frame. Luckily Forever 21 has about a million options and all at really reasonable prices, which I think is great on a "trend" item like this. I'm excited to try a few of these out and hopefully one will work on with my shape.
What about you, are you going crazy for Kimonos, or is this a trend you're passing on?

I also thought I'd show some inspiration for how to style a Kimono. Sources are listed down below the picture.
- With a simple white tee, skinny jeans, and heels for a girls' night look
- With a dress or romper and wedges for an easy summer look
- With cut off shorts, a simple tee, and sandals for a casual look
- With flare jeans, a simple tee, and boots to transition the look into fall
I keep saying I need to pick up a kimono...yeah, I guess I need to get on that :)
ReplyDeleteI love the kimono trend but I haven't found one I like enough yet to purchase and try for myself. You linked to some great options!
ReplyDeleteI've been very intimidated by the kimono trend, thanks for showing some ways to wear it, I might just have to try it now!

What lovely choices! I just added #6 to my cart! Thanks! Susan
ReplyDeleteI've been interested in trying this trend since it started showing up, but I just haven't yet! I kind of think I won't be able to pull it off, which is probably why I haven't jumped on it.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the kimono trend! I wore one while we were in Hawaii with denim shorts and a tee. I actually bought mine from Target last year and it is hip length. Happy Monday!
ReplyDeleteYeeeesss! Kimono season is officially here! I've scored about two so far this season...lol. I love the chic effortless flare it gives to an outfit. I'm on the hunt for more colors and styles. Thanks for sharing these :)
ReplyDeleteI've been so scared to wear one haha! I see people style them so well, but they make me nervous!

Such fun looks! I need to try one!
ReplyDeleteCan I be honest? I'm actually NOT loving the Kimono trend. I don't think they would look good on me...and they remind me too much of bedroom apparel. But hey, I used to dislike leggings, and many other popular pieces that I ended up widely embracing... so maybe I'll come across one, try it on, and fall in love. You definitely picked some with beautiful prints!

Today’s Post: Cropped Top & High-Waisted Denim Shorts (Earrings giveaway post, too!)
They are such a pretty layering piece for Spring and Summer! I definitely need to find one :)
ReplyDeleteI'm with you, I like the shorter ones that hit the hip. They're great as a light cover-up for warmer temperatures. Love your selections!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE kimonos. It wasn't until I wore one at Coachella that I realize how they're both chic & functional. Such a win win. :]

I LOVE #4!! I'm very short...5' and chubby, and I don't think this look would work well on me, but I'd love to give it a try with my jeans, a tank and cowboy boots this fall if it's still on trend.
ReplyDeleteI'm even shorter and I have the same problem :( Some of the forever 21 ones are so cute and I could definitely see working. Hope you end up getting 1 or 2...or them all ;)

Beautiful, beautiful choices. I am thinking of breaking my kimonos out this weekend. I would love to have a longer kimono to wear with jeans. My daughter did a recent kimono post, too. Check her out at curlsandcardigans.com.
