Fun with the Buddy Box Program

Recently Grant got a real treat in the mail, the Buddy Box program! This is a fun monthly care package is just for kids and get's them excited about their faith and Jesus. It's delivered right to your doorstep and full of fun actives and toys, all present to help kids see God's love is real, relevant, and fun! 

Grant was so excited when his box showed up and was really excited to see what was inside!

Here's a look at everything that came with the Buddy Box program; look at all this fun loot!

This month's theme was presented with the help of "Pat the Bat" and was focused on "When Fright Takes Flight" and the verse from Isaiah 41:10 "Do not be afraid, for I am with you."

On top of fun verse-focused activities there were fun toys too, like this wind-up teeth, which were definitely a hit!

There was also a package of black slime which Grant is crazy about!  He's been playing with it like crazy and showing it to everyone who walks in our door.

The box also included a mini-magazine to help kids learn they can turn to God when they're afraid, a sheet with with pictures and talking points about what could scare kids and how to react when that fear hits, fun stickers with different verses, as well as two reflective "slap bracelets" for trick or treating, and a funny rubber chicken.

Inside were also three downloadable songs from iTunes, a fun flying toy, and sticky notes to write encouraging notes to others. There was also clay to play with, as well as to use for a science experiment to show how when put in water it sinks, thus illustrating how when Jesus walked on water without fear it was a miracle.

There were also coloring sheets inside, treat bags with the verse from Isaiah 41:10 "Do not be afraid, for I am with you," to fill up and share with friends. Included was also a fun pillow case and markers to use for decorating. It also has as spot to write a prayer to keep close by when you get scared at night.

After Grant's bath he got right to work on the pillowcase and decorated it with a teddy bear.

Then he worked to write "God Love's You" on one side and "God loves you all the time" on the other side.

It is safe to say the Buddy Box program was a hit here. Grant declared he'd like to have Buddy Box come each month, and I definitely think it's something we will get again.
