You Make Me Brave

This last week Grant had Vacation Bible School with all the funds being raised going to our dear friends who are getting ready to move to be missionaries in Uganda.  They both have been very active within children's ministries and as it is now, children's ministry is nearly nonexistent in Uganda. They'll be teaching church leaders how to get a children's ministry started and help them in the process with hundreds of churches throughout the country.   The theme "You Make Me Brave" was on the shirts and I had gotten my tee months back with the same saying. Grant thought it was pretty cool we matched!

Being hampered with fear is pretty much the worst! With God though, we have no reason to fear! He makes us brave!

If fear is something you find yourself battling, let God take that fear away! Here are some verses to lean on. Memorize the ones that speak to you, and they will be there just when you need them as a reminder of God's promises to us!

John 14:27 "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."

Joshua 1:9  "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Mathew 6:34  "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

Psalm 23:4 "Even though I walk through the darkest valley,I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me."

Psalm 94:19 "When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy."

2 Timothy 1:7 "For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline."

Psalm 27:1 "The LORD is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?"

  3. Deuteronomy 31:6 is my favorite: Be strong and courageous! Do not fear or tremble before them, for the LORD your God is the one who is going with you. He will not fail you or abandon you!"

  4. I love your tee and the verses you posted. Joshua 1:9 is a scripture I pray often over my boys. The Lord gave it to me when I was pregnant with my second and I naturally see them as that now since I pray it so much over them now. God is good!
